District X Championships

We had a very good day.  Many highlights.  Here are the results:

Three state qualifiers!  Booyah!

Practices this week for our remaining three runners will end at 4:45 as we taper on our way for our departure to Hershey on Friday at 8:15am. 

There will be no big sendoff, but rather a simple, we are headed to Hershey to earn some glory goodbye.  And that is appropriate.  We will earn some glory!

RACE TIMES AND INFO FOR DISTRICTS

1.  The bus departs at 7:30am sharp and all are invited.

2.  Varsity Girls race at 10am.

3.  Varsity Boys race at 11:30.

4.  Awards Ceremony follows the last race which starts at 12:15.  

5. We are going to Golden Corral after we depart Buhl Park.  The kids will need money to eat there.

6.  Then we prepare for the next step, whatever it may be.

Well, Well, Very Well

I am humbled by all of the help our boosters and/or parents provide.  Thank you for your support of our team.

We are right where we need to be with 4 weeks left.  Still dropping time.

CASH w/Cochranton. Oh yeah!

Very nice day.  Many positives.  We are making strides (pun intended).  Our performance is still improving.  Very nice.  We are still three weeks from where we wish to peak. Our performance is exactly where we want it at this point in time.  Pics up soon.  

S/O to Beka for beating Brooke. :)  Also, our top varsity boys are pulling away from the field.  And Tucker--great finish.  Nice to see a race everywhere in the field.

The Cochranton Invitational was a great success.  We were down a soldier or two but saw it through giving our last full measure.  Go Panthers.

We are still maturing into the team we will eventually become.  We are getting better.  We will.  More weight.  

We have this Tuesday off; we will prepare for the Cochranton Invitational on Saturday.  Bus leaves for Cochranton Elementary School at 7:30am.

Thanks to all who are providing photos this season; I like seeing our kids in action.  
The meet Tuesday is at Oil City High School, way behind the schools, to the left side of the stadium.  
Here is the information from the last time we were there:

"The course is at Oil City High School at 10 Lynch Boulevard, Oil City, PA 16301. Enter the facility at the 2nd entrance around to the football field parking lot.  The races begin on the practice football field."

We are departing Saegertown at 1:45.

Tri-Meet at Cambridge w/Titusville

All went very well.  What a grand race for all.  Gabe placed 2nd.  Good time, good race!  Karley wins her first meet.  Yep.  That's correct.  More to come I think.

Varsity Girls are now 1-1 with a victory over Titusville.  Good race by all.  Beka placed 2nd behind state medalist and phenom Riley Walsh.  Emily and Alyssa are improving just fine.  Rachel dropped time again and Jessica is getting where she needs to be.  Good job Lady Panthers.

Boys are now 2-0 with a superb performance.  Brendon ran his best race and dragged Brad to a nice finish.  The Fleischer boys came in next with great times--Wyatt's first race.  Garrett and Jacob rounded it all out.  Great job.  Jarrett and Erik and Travis and Dakota--all met and exceeded my goals.

Like, I said, great day!  Woot!  

MORE WEIGHT!

NEW VENUE

The race is NOT at Titusville on Tuesday, September 9th as in the schedule.  It is at Cambridge Springs High School at 4pm.  Not sure what happened.  :(

No results posted yet.  Many posted personal bests and that is a good thing.  We need to continue to get where we are going, though. And it is a long season.  Region meets start Tuesday.  We need that.  The Tuesday race is at Hydetown Elementary at 4pm.  See you there.

Overall impression:  Many individuals did very well!  We have a LONG road ahead of us, though.  Junior High did very well.  Our freshman boys group did fairly well, also.  

Room for improvement?  Absolutely.  Good first race to get under our belt though.

New Start Time

Tomorrow's Time Trial start time will be at 8am, not 9am.  The football team is using our field that is inside the track for a scrimmage that starts at 10am, but they will be on the field, etc., by 8:30 or 9.  So we want to be done before that.  Hence, the new start time.

Good week so far.

All is right with the world, and we will endure.  The best is yet to come.

Day 1

One day done.  We had a great day today, though our numbers were very low.  We have one junior high girl and boy.  That is a real bummer.  Many varsity boys, but few varsity girls.  Help.  Recruit.  Help.

Anyhow, all went well and as planned.  A good start to the season.

Here we go:  Practice tomorrow!  Heads up: Wednesday--Mandatory Parent Meeting at 6pm at SES Pavilion.

Practice Time!

Our practice schedule for the first week, beginning on Monday, August 11th will be:

M thru W from 8-11am.  
Thursday, I have a mandatory meeting so we will practice in the evening (time yet to be determined).
F: 8-11am
Sat: 9-10am.  

Parent Meeting will be at 6pm on Wednesday evening, the 13th.

11th Annual Out-Run Cancer Run

We will be holding the 11th Annual Out-Run Cancer Run on Saturday June 14th from 8am - 12pm.  Please arrive early to be ready to begin sharply at 8am.

Parents:  We need help manning tables and providing food/drinks for the event.  Please contact me if you're interested in helping.
