Remember that you have a lot of junior high boys and girls running hard for you too, who will one day be your precious varsity. maybe include them next time.

I'm not sure I understand your comment or its intended tone. And since I don't know who this is, as it is anonymous, feel free to speak to me in person about anything you feel the need to post to this blog. Thank you.

Coach Hetrick, Coach Houck, and Coach Fuzzy are three great coaches and individuals who care about the kids and put them above anything. I am honored to have them teach, coach, and mentor my son.
They have a proven system that not only generates good runners but it also generates fine young men and women. Any young runner in the program needs to be patient and run their miles and their opportunity will come like the current varsity kids have already done.

Good Morning! I woke this morning feeling so positive about yesterday’s race and embracing my new found nerves for Tuesday’s first and most important R3 race for all runners (V, JV, and JH). Then upon entering the Blog found myself a bit confused over the anonymous comment. Here is the way I see it right or wrong:
1) All team members are precious! (Please, keep in mind I have both V and JH runners) Wesley is working very hard to one day be a part of that V team. MOTIVATION is everything!
2) I am sure that if the JH could have ran yesterday they would have… but from what I witnessed at the R, W and B they had a fun filled stress free day cheering on their team mates!
3) If you look at SHS XC history apparently something is being done correctly with the JH, because year after year we continue to be successful! We had some AWESOME result last year, both JH boys and GIRLS! With a R3 Title for the girls and top placing boys!
4) We have an AWESOME set of coaches here… Let them do just that! Our Jobs as OUTSTANDING XC parents is to cheer on everyone, catch our exhausted runner at the finish and ABOVE ALL support and motivate all our runners not just our own!
Cross country is often observed as an individual sport and in some places I am sure it is… but not here! Between both my boys I have 5 years of XC at SHS. Out of all the other sports my children have participated in never have I seen such a diverse, dynamic, charismatic and wholesome group of teenagers! Lets keep it this way. We as parents have the ability to sway our children’s opinions, lets do so in the right direction. Let us as the parents be the positive driving force behind all our runners!! Because the way I see it… right or wrong… they are all PRECIOUS!!

I think what they meant was next time include the junior high kids in the pictures. If you look at the McDowel pictures it only shows varsity kids. A little petty but thats my best guess!!

I'm not sure what's going on or why but I agree with Kate. We as parents need to be a positive force for our kids and stop with the pettiness. Our kids have access to this blog and can read these comments as well. As for the McDowell pictures, I understand that all of the varsity boys metaled and got first place. That is a Great accomplishment for our kids, not just the varsity boys but for all the kids because this shows the younger kids the great accomplishments they can achieve if they keep with it and work hard. I'm sure no harm was intended to leave anyone out. As many of us parents know the meets can be very chaotic at times. I also believe that Coach Hetrick said that we can also post any pictures of the kids on here ourselves to share. My daughter loves XC and her teammates. She loves how everyone supports each other and cheers each other on. Yes, there can be some drama from time to time but with help from the coaches, and from other parents, we can teach our children to be better and positive people who can accomplish anything.
